We are searching for Cereal Breeding Technician to join our dynamic team and to run our Commercial Seed program. The successful applicant will have excellent attention to detail, be proactive and be excited about cereal breeding.
The Commercial Seed Technician’s major duty will be to coordinate the production of our varieties in large seedlots. These will be used for our field trials programs, as well as bulking up potential commercial releases. This will involve coordination with the wheat, barley and oats trials teams, and the Field Manager. The position will report to the Operations Manager.
The role is based in Bibra Lake, WA, and will require travel within regional Western Australia at times. The role involves planning, coordination and hands on work to process grain seedlots, manage seedlot inventory, perform physical quality testing, prepare seed for field trials, collect in-season data, and notes from field sites, and assist in harvest activities.
The role will primarily work independently and will frequently involve the supervision of other staff members and seasonal casuals to achieve targets. The role will be predominately field and warehouse based.
