Our focus is breeding differentiated cereal varieties tailored to the Asian export market and we are globally recognised for our proven capability in the delivery of quality malting barleys and udon noodle wheats.

InterGrain’s shareholders are the WA State Government (58%) and GRDC (42%). InterGrain employs 65+ staff and has offices in Perth and Horsham. We also have marketing staff based in Northam, Adelaide, Albury and Dalby.

Proven Varieties

InterGrain varieties are industry leaders, delivering significant agronomic advantages and high-quality end-user benefits. Vixen, RockStar, Chief CL Plus, Sheriff CL Plus and Devil are all exceptionally high yielding wheat varieties. InterGrain udon noodle varieties, Kinsei, Ninja and Zen are the benchmark, worldwide, in the Japanese white salted udon noodle market.

Maximus CL, Spartacus CL and La Trobe are high yielding, export malting barley varieties, with quality characteristics well suited to export brewing industries. Combat and Rosalind are among Australia’s highest yielding feed barley’s offering exceptional yield and yield stability.
