Career History

Prior to InterGrain, Reg Lance worked as a senior barley breeder with the Department of
Agriculture and Food (1994-2009). Before this, Reg was a barley breeder (1984-95) with the
University of Adelaide Waite Agricultural Research Institute’s Barley Improvement Program.
Reg undertook his BSc (Agric, Hons) at the University of Western Australia. Reg completed
his PhD in Agronomy and Soils at Washington State University in 1983; specialising in barley
breeding, genetics and malting quality. He spent time at the Carlsberg Research Laboratories’ Department of Brewing Chemistry as a post doctoral fellow (1983-84).

Barley varieties - Chebec, Dhow, Keel, Maritime, Gairdner, Fitzgerald, Molloy, and Doolup.
