David Moody

Career History

Prior to joining InterGrain, David worked for the Department of Primary Industries in Victoria both as a barley breeder (1992 – 2006) and a cereal research scientist (2008 – 2010) based at Horsham. David also spent a period of time (2006 – 2008) working as a research manager with the Birchip Cropping Group. David’s most recent previous role was in the management of the DPI cereal genetics group at Horsham where his main research interests were the genetics of physiological traits influencing barley’s adaptation to stress environments. His other responsibilities included the studies on the genetics and utilisation of primary synthetic wheats in wheat germplasm improvement and the evaluation of transgenic wheats for drought tolerance. David has a B. Ag. Sc (Hons) degree from the University of Adelaide.

Career History

Prior to InterGrain, Reg Lance worked as a senior barley breeder with the Department of
Agriculture and Food (1994-2009). Before this, Reg was a barley breeder (1984-95) with the
University of Adelaide Waite Agricultural Research Institute’s Barley Improvement Program.
Reg undertook his BSc (Agric, Hons) at the University of Western Australia. Reg completed
his PhD in Agronomy and Soils at Washington State University in 1983; specialising in barley
breeding, genetics and malting quality. He spent time at the Carlsberg Research Laboratories’ Department of Brewing Chemistry as a post doctoral fellow (1983-84).

Career History

Prior to InterGrain, Robin worked as a wheat breeder for the Agriculture and Food WA. Earlier
in his career Robin was wheat breeder andresearch associate at Roseworth Agricultural College
in South Australia.Completed BAgSc studies at University of Adelaide in 1971.

Career History

Prior to InterGrain, Chris worked as a wheat breeder for the Department of Agriculture and Food
WA. Before that he was a plant breeder with Grain Biotech Australia for two years. Before GBA,
he undertook PhD studies with the University of Sydney, based at CSIRO Canberra.

Career History

Prior to InterGrain, Robyn worked as a wheat breeder for the Department of Agriculture and
Food WA, firstly as oat breeder and triticale breeder in 1984 and oat and soft wheat breeder
in 1990. She became a fulltime wheat breeder in 2003, when rationalisation of oat breeding
in Australia resulted in the WA oat breeding program being merged with the SA oat breeding
program and relocated to South Australia. Undertook BAgSc and honours with the University
of Adelaide and PhD with University of Queensland. Completed Graduate Diploma in Computer
Science at Curtin University in 1997.

Oat varieties - Hay, Kalgan, Dalyup, Yilgarn, Carrolup, Pallinup, Coomallo, Toodyay, Hotham, Vasse, Needilup, Wandering and Kojonup;

Triticale variety - Muir.

Career History

Prior to InterGrain, Iain worked as a wheat breeder for the Department of Agriculture and Food
WA. Prior to that he completed BAgSc studies at Adelaide University and PhD studies at
Cambridge University. Completed Graduate Diploma in Computer Science at Curtin University
in 1997.
